Neurodivergence and Creativity
Welcome to a space that honors the unique ways neurodivergent minds create, process, and express themselves. This isn't about "overcoming" neurodivergence or fitting into neurotypical creative frameworks. It's about understanding how ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent experiences can fundamentally shape - and often enhance - creative practice.
These resources explore the intersection of neurodivergence and creativity with depth and nuance, moving beyond stereotypes to examine real experiences: the ADHD creator who hyperfocuses for 14 hours then can't touch their art for weeks, the autistic artist whose sensory needs shape their material choices, the late-diagnosed creative person rebuilding their entire understanding of their creative identity.
This collection celebrates neurodivergent creativity while acknowledging the real challenges of creating in a world designed for neurotypical brains.
I have developed these ideas after decades of lived experience, interview-based insights, and deep research into the complex relationship between art and health. They are based on my unique 6-part framework. If you are interested in assistance in applying these ideas to your own life: Order a Creative Health Assessment or Book a 1:1 Coaching Call.
