I love cultivating community in the art+psychology niche and some of that happens over in my Notes. I also like collecting the poignant and pertinent and pretty things in one place each week so that it doesn’t all just get lost to the scroll.

And as I said in one of my responses there, I have wondered if a reason I don’t get more paid subs is because I publish daily for my own reasons and maybe that’s too much for a lot of people. I never expect anyone to read everything and I offer ways to reduce the notifications including down to a monthly digest but for people who have that “all in” feeling it may still not work.

The funny thing is that in every other area of digital life, I stay minimal. I’m a zero inbox person, I don’t like digital clutter, and yet my For Later Library Shelf is ridiculous. Part of that is because for a time instead of scrolling on social media or spending money online shopping, I would spend time scrolling all of the new books at the library and doing free digital shopping that way.
