Stitched Together: Inspiration Roundup from the THREADSTACK Community
And happy belated World Wide Knit in Public Day!
Last week I announced that anyone who writes about the fiber arts and crafts is welcome to share one link per week with the THREADSTACK community. I was a bit surprised to see that only one person shared a link this week! But that’s okay. It means that we all get to really celebrate their beautiful work! Plus I’ll share with you some things I read here myself this week related to the topic. And I’ll share some stuff from my own archives. Details on how to join THREADSTACK and submit weekly links are at the bottom of this post.
June 8th was World Wide Knit in Public Day.
“World Wide Knit in Public Day is the largest Knitter run event in the world. It started in 2005 and is now celebrated in 57 different countries (2016).
The mission is: “Better Living through stitching together” !
Huge thanks to Pattie for being the first to share to the weekly link roundup:

Pattie shares this glimpse into what her piece is about …
“This is a lighter touch on my disorganized approach to crafting.”
“I always get myself into this predicament at this time of year. Can I avoid it in the future?”
It’s an animated, enjoyable description of how our brains sometimes don’t work the way that our creative plans wish that they would, how procrastination comes in the form of starting and not finishing and that’s all part of the creativity, too.
My favorite part: the idea of a Bookcase of Dreams.

My THREADSTACK Finds:
These people are all part of the THREADSTACK directory, and even though they didn’t submit links this week, I wanted to help you find out more about them. Normally I’ll organize weekly links by category but for today it’s just a mix. Enjoy checking some of these out:
Happy to have you all in THREADSTACK

I’ll be updating the THREADSTACK directory later today (and weekly through the summer) so check it out to find all of the people here who are writing about crochet, knitting, weaving, quilting, embroidery, sewing, etc.
Here’s the directory:

This post is free for a week until it goes into the archives. Please consider supporting the energy and effort that threading everything together takes with an annual subscription:
Thanks so much for curating Threadstack for us! I got several good reads out of this (and learned about the sweater curse). Looking forward to more. My crochet remains as messed up as ever, but I love being on the fringes of this creative community.
Thanks for linking to my post! I'm loving this resource for connecting with other craft-centric writers.
