You know, I don't think I've ever been to an NBA game. I went to a pro baseball game as a kid in Atlanta (go Braves!), and I certainly saw a lot of college and amateur sports (in spite of never being very pro-team or anything like that, sports were impossible to escape for me in the 80s and early 90s).

Kya looks like she is pushing the planet away in order to create more smooshy temporary wrinkles on her face! What a great photo. <3

My mom had season tickets to the Wildcats college basketball games and they're a great time so I've been to a bunch of those. It hadn't really occurred to me that I'd never been to an NBA game before until we were already there. This one was entertaining because it was also Hello Kitty night so they gave away dolls and did silly things like put a Kitty face filter on the video cam. We had fun. I would go see soccer or hockey games. We go to baseball once every year or two. Football is the big one I have zero interest in.

Kya is the cutest. I'll have to send you a funny photo of them this week with their wrinkles blending in to the folds of the blankets.

I think that being immersed in the world of individual sports for so long gave me a bit of a jaded perspective on live team sports. There's been an awful lot of "sportsball" jokes in my world (and I welcomed them to a large degree), although going to MMA or jiu jitsu events in the late 90s/early 2000s still held a lot of appeal to me. Right up until, I would say, 2010 or thereabouts.

That all makes sense. My brother was / is super athletic and was competitively active in gymnastics, soccer, baseball and basketball growing up. My sister played basketball. I have not an ounce of athletic urge in my body, so I probably wouldn't ever have bothered watching any sports if it weren't for them. :) I do think that they gained certain skills from participating on teams that I didn't. MMA events sound intense!!

I used to really love MMA, but mainly because it was a scientific test of sorts to determine the most effective tactics and strategy to use in a one on one, unarmed situation. I loved that about the early days of "NHB" (No Holds Barred, long before MMA). Now, it's just a bunch of preprogrammed robots all following the same script. It's long outlived its usefulness as an experiment, and now the medium itself has become the art, if that makes sense.

I used to write about all that stuff, but I'm afraid all that old stuff is lost in cyberspace. I wonder how much stuff from the late 90s and early 2000s is just gone forever.

Lol. It was a hard loss to them by one on our home court. I have pretty much no competitive bone in my body though so I like watching either way.

Hi Katherine, well what's true for me since a few days ago is this opportunity to be involved in this competition that could be the greatest catalyst for human society since we fell out of the trees. Now as you are an exceptional creative, maybe you would like to join us, or if not... restack us.... )
