This essay brings SO much clarity to why we might struggle in our creative process and ways to move through it. I recognize a lot of these patterns and definitely went through periods where perfectionism meant I made little actual progress, and times when I had to walk away for a few months. I also had to cut way back and streamline my manuscript before it began to really flow...going from almost 100k words to just over 67k.
It's all part of it but knowing that means we're less likely to give up. 😊
