Kathryn, I have subscribed to well over 400 Substacks too and feel about the same as you, its too much, and doing this full time is not wholly appealing to me for quite a few reasons, including my continued healing from surgery. I look forward to reading your post tomorrow, when you expand on this.

Thanks for sharing that. Doing this full time is a dream for me but I don't see it happening right now ... I'll look forward to your thoughts on tomorrow's share. Sending lots of good energy for healing.

Thanks you! Sending you lots of good energy too, for setting into your new home, and for things to improve with the things you - and I - dream about here!

I just had severe oral surgery. Assisted living did not get my pain killer filled. They lost the prescription. Then they lost my ice packs, which I had to buy myself. It’s been an unhappy time.

I also have not been able to get them to give me sufficient amounts of JELLO or ice cream to constitute anywhere close to a meal. I’m very angry.

I now have ice packs. I’m going out to try to go to church. Let’s see how it goes. It’s going to be a crazy 75 degrees today! In Iowa! I have on a Kelly green dress. I just cannot speak.

Oh I am so sorry. I have a long history of terrible tooth pain and really awful dentists and the whole thing has been super traumatic so I really, really feel for you. I hope that church goes/went well.

Over 400? That does sound too much. I have a hard time keeping up with the ones I subscribed to and I often feel bad about not reading everything regularly. I think that’s the part of being on Substack that I find very overwhelming. So far I have not been able to figure out how to do it, but I am trying. :)

I think it's such an interesting thing how some people feel bad when they don't read what they've subscribed to and others don't feel that. We all have these little rules of etiquette that we follow, consciously or not, and sometimes we aren't gentle enough with ourselves around them!

So glad that you have settled into your new home. We are about to move so it is great to read of someone who has successfully been through the process. It is very hard to keep up with all the subscriptions, so it is understandable that you need to cut. Good luck with the work search.

Thank you so much. The move had its challenging moments - a few logistics things of course, and some emotion especially around realizing it was the last place my dad would ever have seen me live since he passed last year. But overall it was smooth and I am so so so happy in the new place.

Thank you for sharing. I feel the same, since we are leaving the house my late husband knew.

I love that you have found a good place for the doggos and the partner! That's really great to see.

Those towel robes must be must-haves. I can imagine Bumi or Kya being wet and trying to get them all the way dry by hand! No dice.

I also love letting them go in and out as they please since they can do that now and it’s a headache to towel them off each time but easy to just robe them up each time they’re about to come back in

The "letting them out part" is everything!
