I feel seen reading this. And it applies not only for creating art alone, but for the art of living itself. Hard to choose only one quote to share. ❤❤❤

Thank you for this - it’s a potent reminder that my heart yearns for creative community (which I usually avoid from fear of critique circles)… a safe space to learn how to share and express and support one another in how our heart wants to shine.

Ah, I relate to the critique circles. I didn't go to writing school or art school because of that fear - which I know now was the perfectly write choice because my creative self couldn't have handled that at the time.

I later went to art school and choose a program called Visual and Critical Studies - and I gained a ton out of the first year but decided not to return for the second year because critically studying art was the antithesis to what I wanted to keep doing.

I've found, over the years, though, creative communities that are collaborative, synergistic, supportive ... it doesn't mean there's no feedback or tension but it's somehow not in a critique kind of way. <3

Ah yes, following the wisdom of your intuition! I have felt the same, I was trying to find my own creative voice and didn’t need the input of others while I was nurturing it. Now it feels as if it would be lovely to have creative collaboration that includes the kind of exchange that is supportive and encourages us to follow our unique expression in the world.

I think this piece is not just for creatives, but for anyone who lives and engages in any kind of community of endeavour.
