Want to collaborate in the niche of where art meets mental health (both terms defined loosely)? Read on! Plus learn more about me and what I'm most interested in studying in 2024.
Oooh. Let me check out your interview form! I'll think about if there is a more creative/fun way to collaborate, but I always love answering other people's questions. It often makes me think about things in a different way.
Kathryn, I want to introduce you to my friends Stefania. She isn't on Substack, but her Instagram is https://www.instagram.com/stefania_whatiseeinart/?hl=en. She is a Greek book and art therapist, living in Paris, who has written a gorgeous book of four-color photographs featuring museum-goers paired with art pieces--difficult to explain--a really imaginative work, kind of street photography at the museum. Her blog is here: https://whatiseeinart.com/blog. She would be a perfect fit as an interview subject for Create Me Free!
I would be interested! I have files out an interview form. If you use it, I can provide more and better photos than what I've submitted.
I would love to have you write a first post for either my Five Feathers Farmgirl or my Sage Alley Arts newsletter! If you're interested, we can discuss topics. I'm particularly interested in the story about your dogs' background--their rescue-- for Five Feathers Farmgirl. For Sage Alley Arts, we can discuss.
I also really enjoy collaborating with other artists!
I'm so very interested in the interview but battle the 'imposter syndrome' side of whether it will be 'worth' anything but aside from that I feel I have a need to use both words and images and wondered if both forms were completed, whether a combo is 'allowed'? Or is the restriction of one medium part of the purpose... (I don't know if that makes sense as a question)
Whatever you feel moved to do or share will be exactly perfect - there is no right way to do this. You are definitely not the only person to worry that somehow it's not "enough" but that's exactly why I love when more people share because we are all enough exactly as we are.
That said, do it only when it feels right for you. I think it's good to step outside the comfort zone but also good to notice when vulnerability feels like too much. We can always start with a draft and not publish until you know it feels right to do so.
Combo of words and images is definitely allowed. You can fill out both forms or you can fill out the words and then email me the images and tell me which question they go with ... or we can approach it some other way that feels better. I really am open.
Kathryn, I'm very interested in working with you on an interview and post. I'm retired as a University Comp and Lit prof, a journalist/writer/author and have struggled with depression for most of my life. Much of my writing and research is about silence in women. I'll follow up with the interview form. Jane
Hello! I found in you the comment section of Kat Rivers thread about money, and felt drawn to explore your page 🙂 I love that you’re bringing artists together! I’ve been really drawn to collaboration lately 😍
I’ve been wanting to express myself through writing, but have been stuck in the scarcity mindset of needing a “real job” 🤪 I’ve done some freelance proofreading and decided to offer my services to creatives who I feel drawn to collaborate with. If you need any proofreading services, please reach out! My brother and I have both dealt with mental health struggles. I would love to be involved in something that helps others with their mental health journeys!
Hi Kathryn! I've really enjoyed reading your visual and written interviews with artists these past few months. The ones that have talked about anxiety have especially resonated with me. :) I'm slowly working my way through your written interview questionnaire. Excited to work together soon! 🤍
It's difficult for me to state I understand someone's struggle even if we share the same diagnosis of a particular disorder, but sharing stories helps with empathy, and from a foundation of similar disorders, it could be possible to create order, so I sent you an email about a collaboration. best Doug Sandelin
Exactly that - none of us has exactly the same experience but the more of us articulating our experiences in our own ways, the more I think we'll all understand. I'll be answering emails soon!
Community building!
Always.

I'm always hopeful that the interview questions help people as much as they give me insight and I look forward to yours!
I'm down. I have that damned depression thing too. I write about mental health issues, etc.
It captures lots of us ... would love to connect.
Sounds good.

Wonderful! I'll be able to check out your interview soon.
I would LOVE to share the stories of my dogs with you and your readers. It's a long one, so let's connect and discuss. I'll email you now.
Got it! I'll get back to you a little later. I'm resting. You know my story.
Whenever time and energy permit.
