I'm planning to upgrade to paid this month! (I don't get my disability until Wednesday.) I've wanted to for a while!

Aww, shucks!

You have provided us with a really nice, uploading community through your chat threads. I deal with so many awful and stressful things that is nice to have a place to vent a little, but also to help to uplift others. (I'll save my rants for my Stacks!)

I answered no as I only found your Substack yesterday so haven’t had a chance to read through things yet. But it’s not a no forever but that was my only no option! I think what your doing sounds really interesting and I may become paid and I’m always looking for collaboration myself 😊

If I ever create something similar, I'll work on better "no" options! Thanks so much for your comment. It's helpful.

Reach out anytime for collaboration. I have a post coming out later this week with more about what I'm especially looking to collaborate around this year.

...this was incredibly clever...as a noob to your space appreciated the architecture and time you put into this adventure...super cool to see someone overlapping art and mental health the way you are...

Thank you! I wasn't sure quite how to to put it together and it feels like I could have done some things differently but it was really fun. And it's helpful to see people's responses.

I meant to hit other, accidentally hit never and can’t change it! The truth is, there’s nothing you can really do. I’m subscribed to way too many Substack and my budget is needing cuts not more spending. I’ve been having to unsubscribe to apps and newsletters, and all kinds of things to get my budget in line. So honestly is nothing that you could do. I really appreciate what you do here though.

Yeah, the polls here are good but they definitely need some upgrades to their features.

I appreciate the comment. I do completely understand that and it's helpful to hear the feedback. We are all under financial constraints and part of the purpose here is to get a sense of what my own Substack income may look like this year so that I can plan accordingly as well.

Always love connecting with you.

I got lost !! Doing this on my phone I was scrolling up and down .. polar bear ✔️ typewriter as I’m curious ✔️ dog .. couldn’t find one 🤣. It was fun though .

Apologies for any confusion. I wasn't quite sure how to set this up so even though I put a lot of effort into it, it was tough to get it quite right in this format. Still it was fun to create and I'm glad it was fun to play!

The dog asked about collaboration. Just so you can see what it says, the answer options were:

You want to answer an interview, which I’ll share here on this site - You can answer a visual interview or answer in words. Then see text below these bullet points.

You’ll write a guest post for me to share here on the site … It needs to be related to the relationship between art and mental health but I use those terms broadly. I’m open to most ideas. Contact me at kathryn.vercillo over on gmail and tell me your idea. Then see text below these bullet points.

You’ll let me write for you. In other words, I do a guest post that you share with your readers. Contact me at kathryn.vercillo over on gmail and let me know what you’re thinking for topic, word length, deadline, etc. Then see text below these bullet points.

You want to interview me. I love to do interviews that you share with others. I am happy to do them in writing, voice or video. Contact me at kathryn.vercillo over on gmail with ideas. Then see text below these bullet points.

Other. Cool, I love creative collaborations. Contact me at kathryn.vercillo over on gmail with your idea! Then see text below these bullet points.

I’d love to write a guest post as this topic of art / mental health is very relevant to my life story and I’d be very happy for you to write a guest post for me. I’m not sure quite on the how but my gut is excited about this possibility. I will think about topic / ideas and email you as suggested.

I would upgrade to a paid subscription if I had more income. I am on SSDI and live on less than $1000/mo.

I completely understand. I'm on a super limited budget myself and really struggling although school loans are helping at the current time. Part of why I did this little game was to get insight into what my Substack might look like in 2024 so that I can plan accordingly. So your answer really does help!

I would upgrade to a paid subscription if my income increased significantly. I love your work and will do what I can to support it in other ways

I appreciate that. We are all trying to figure out how to do this thing in a way that supports one another while also providing financial stability for ourselves. We'll get there!

Other: I truly value your work as I do anyone (well, most people) who speak up about mental health because I have struggled with it as long as I can remember and art and connection are by far the most helpful tools for me. The only reason I haven't upgraded to paid is that Im on disability and am barely getting by.

I answered a couple I was “supposed to”, but happened to see while scrolling and thought they sort of applied. I've been pushing myself to break rules, in a good way of course, so this was an easy way to do that. I would love to help you in any way I can. Sharing my experience is something that I feel is important (for anyone who may be dealing with anything similar and to help others better understand), but since writing isn't my strong suit (to say the least) I haven't really done it much. If there's anything else that would be beneficial to you I'm open as well…helping to edit, admin stuff, whatever. Just let me know.

I think it’s great to practice breaking rules and getting rid of shoulds!!! Let’s connect soon and figure something out for collaborating.

Just let me know what works for you. I have no schedule.

I would gladly pay if my income was higher than $100 a month. I’m trying to keep my car running to be able to get to appointments. And I have to pay for my necessities (and I’m $1,500 in the hole right now).

I know you would. <3 For what it's worth, I'm more than 30x in the hole than that ... which I only share to say that sometimes it can look like someone is doing better than they are and we never really know.

I would upgrade to a paid subscription right now if I wasn’t extremely limited by being disabled and on a tiny budget.

Thank you for that feedback. I do understand that. I'm actually working on an idea for a new publishing model that would take that into consideration while still allowing me to be paid for my writing. We'll see how it unfolds.
