Join Me in Crafting to Heal, Grow and Connect
A Year Long Guided Adventure Examining, Expressing, and Exploring Life Through Your Hands Start March 2025
Fifteen years ago, crochet saved my life.
I was coping with symptoms of life-threatening depression. Crochet gave me something to hold onto—something rhythmic, tangible, and grounding but also manageable at a time when almost any activity seemed impossible. Crochet wasn’t a cure for my depression, but it was a lifeline.
So, yes, crochet saved my life. And then I wrote a book about it.
And I began researching and learning and asking and seeking and studying how craft can heal - but also working to understand how health challenges can also impact creativity.
My relationship with craft has changed again and again over the years. I’ve had to adapt, experiment, and find new ways to use creativity to support my mental health as life circumstances, personal challenges, and my own emotional landscape have evolved.
Craft has never stopped being healing - but how I engage with it, what I need from it, and how it impacts me are things that are always shifting.
I have shared what I’ve learned about this to help other artists/crafters/makers/creatives through my books, online and print articles, and occasional workshops.
And now, for the first time, I’m offering an immersive, structured program to help others explore this work alongside me. I welcome you to join me in Craft to Heal!
What Is Craft to Heal?
Craft to Heal is a guided creative journey and supportive community designed to help you explore personal growth, healing, and connection through the crafts you love.
It’s a program for learning how to use the crafts you already enjoy as tools in various areas of life—whether that’s practicing self-care, building relationships, navigating change, or finding purpose.
This is not a craft class where I teach you how to knit, crochet, or quilt. It’s not therapy. It’s something else—something between and beyond those things.
Each month, we’ll explore a new theme—mindfulness, letting go, creative balance, fear, abundance, artistic development—through structured creative exercises, guided reflection, and optional group discussion.
This is about process, not product. It’s more about making meaning than making specific things. It’s about showing up for your creativity in a way that supports you, learning how to use your craft as a mirror, a release, a grounding practice, a source of connection and insight.
I want to help you explore all of the ways that you can use crafting to transform your life in the areas where you want to see change.

How It Works
Each month I’ll offer an introductory lesson on crafting to heal for that month's theme, a second more advanced lesson, and the opportunity for 1:1 creative guidance.
You can join any or all of these each month. Here’s some more detail:
🦋 The month's intro lesson will be a primarily a lecture-style “share my screen” Zoom session, designed to help you explore the topic at your own pace.
🦋🦋 The more advanced lessons will include hands-on exercises, journaling prompts, and small group discussions. This is a more interactive experience for those who want to dive deeper and make the most of this learning opportunity. Everyone who attends will receive a PDF of exercises relevant to that month’s theme.
🦋🦋🦋 The private sessions offer the opportunity to address challenges and blocks, or explore dreams and ideas, tailored specifically for you. It includes an hour-long personal call and one email follow-up for support. This service is offered at a significantly reduced cost for the Craft to Heal program.
Anyone who participates at any level for all twelve months will receive a signed copy of the completed Craft to Heal print book when it is published in 2026.
*** IMPORTANT: This is not a technical class. I won’t be teaching you how to crochet, knit, or quilt. Instead, I’ll guide you in using the craft you already love as a tool for self-discovery and personal growth. You don’t need to be highly skilled—just open to exploring your creativity in new ways. ***
Why and Why Now?
Because craft heals.
Because it’s too easy to push creativity aside and too critical that we don’t do so.
Because engaging in crafting for healing is an act of radical self-care.
Because crafting in community has a ripple effect of healing.
Because after years of experience and conversation and research, I’ve developed the tools to truly help others understand not just how craft heals but also how it can continue to heal even in the face of blocks and times when it doesn’t feel like it’s helping.
Craft to Heal launches in March 2025, and spaces are limited.
Our expenses - of money and also of time - are a reflection of our priorities. If prioritizing utilizing your crafting to make your life better and also connect with others resonates with you, I would love to have you join me on this journey.
