Important Threadstack News: It's Now It's Own Publication!
In which I admit that I might have messed up before and hopefully make things better
I was so thrilled when I started the THREADSTACK community here on Create Me Free. I have always thrived in online crafty communities, and I wanted to make the same thing happen here. And I did … but I think I made a little boo-boo.
Nobody has mentioned it to me, but I think that I should have made Threadstack its own separate Substack publication. Instead, I made it a part of Create Me Free.
My thinking was that if it was created as its own section here and people could subscribe only to that section, then that would work. However, I don’t think it does work. I think that the reasons engagement around Threadstack has dropped off is because a lot of people don’t want to tune in to Create Me Free to be part of the Threadstack community.
If I’m right, launching it as its own publication means that more of us will connect with each other in comments and chats and shares and links all about crochet, knitting, embroidery, weaving, needle felting, macrame, sewing, stitching … I hope that’s the case.
So, Threadstack now lives here. If you are interested in receiving the emails (I’m guessing about one per week) then you need to sign up for that publication (it’s free) because all Threadstack things will be coming from there now.
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the craft community. It has been where I have found myself again and again. It has been a safety net of support and inspiration. It has been where I have met the most interesting people. And Threadstack is a place for us to come together in that spirit. If that sounds like your kind of thing, come check it out.
You can read more about it here.
You can see the directory of nearly 50 people on Substack already writing about these topics here.
I wondered where it went. You are right. It does need to be separate.
You're right, I like the idea. Will we continue using the google form?
